Topografie dell’incontro — Tre sguardi tra territorio e comunità

Mercati Culturali Pordenone opens its doors to a meeting dedicated to the vision of three Friulian photographers, inviting Valentina Laccarino, Giulia Lacolutti, and Matteo Trevisan to share their journeys through the projects Ramonika, I Don’t Care (About Football), and I guardiani della montagna – We Are Still Dreaming.

Organized by Associazione Obliquo and moderated by photographer Bartolomeo Rossi, the meeting intertwines experiences and visions to explore photography as a practice of investigation and connection: a medium capable of bringing territories closer together, revealing communities, and shaping collective identities. The talk thus transforms into a journey through stories, faces, and landscapes, where the image becomes a narrative, a portrait, and a meeting place. An invitation to enter three different worlds and discover how photography can convey traces and memories of contemporary life.

After the talk, the evening will continue with a DJ set by The Very Selecta, along with good music and Birra Galassia beers.

Valentina Laccarino, born in Naples, currently lives and works in Friuli Venezia Giulia. She is a photographer whose visual research focuses primarily on the human figure and the narration of little-explored stories and everyday realities. She has a keen interest in analog photography and darkroom experimentation.

Ramonika is a photographic journey through the Natisone valleys, a project that speaks of borderlands and centuries-old traditions, delving into the intimate depths of this strip of land in Friuli Venezia Giulia bordering Slovenia.

Giulia Lacolutti explores visual forms aimed at subverting normalizing patterns through photography, performance, video, and participatory practices. She has been part of the collective The Glorious Mothers since 2024.

I Don't Care (About Football) is a co-participatory art project involving the players of the Marangoni 105 soccer team. Marangoni 105 was founded in 2011 within one of the rehabilitation centers of the Udine Mental Health Department, managed by the Cooperativa Duemilauno Agenzia Sociale.

Matteo Trevisan is a photographer and videographer from Friuli Venezia Giulia. Born and raised in a border area between Italy and Slovenia, he develops long-term projects on social and ecological issues, adopting an anthropological approach to the territory.

We are still dreaming is a visual investigation of the community of young people under 30 living in the Susa Valley, one of the wildest Alpine valleys in Italy, which holds the record for the most militarized area in the peninsula and is home to the longest-running protest movement in Italy, the No Tav movement.
