«I can't draw» is the sentence that the vast majority of adults say when drawing is mentioned. Drawing is commonly perceived as a gift you either have or you don’t have. Fortunately, this isn’t true: you can train yourself to draw, just as you train for sports, music, or cooking. In this course, we will draw the reality around us together in order to truly see it. We will use simple, humble materials and begin the intimate and joyful practice of keeping a personal sketchbook—to remind ourselves of the world we live in while we are living it. Drawing is one of the oldest gestures in the world: everyone knows how to draw; we will start doing it again, together.
Caterina Di Paolo was born in Spilimbergo in 1987. She works as an illustrator, graphic designer, and art director, primarily in the publishing industry. She began drawing seriously at 28, and it was the greatest revelation of her life.
